The corridors encircle the entire main hall area. For this area the client chose Halstead's Polyflor Bevelline heavy duty wood effect vinyl planking. We also installed Altro Walkway sheet vinyl on the ramp (right) to provide a slip resistant surface. The subfloors were levelled off at top and bottom of the ramp to allow a smooth flush finish with no edges or metal trims were the altro vinyl meets the wood planking. A contrasting colour was also used to highlight the presence of the ramp, espescially as the heavily used kitchen is at the top of the ramp and folk often walk from kitchen to hall carrying laden trays and pots of tea.

Acoustic backed sheet vinyls in wood effects were also offered and are available, providing a tough and easy to maintain surface which also reduces noise levels in the corridors, an important factor when meetings or performances are in progress in the hall or adjoining function suites (also an excellent specification for schools and colleges).
